Life Development Institute (LDI) provides year round education through its accredited day high school and residential high school and post-secondary programs.

The three-trimester year for 2016 will begin its fall trimester on August 15, 2016.  LDI serves capable young adults who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning disabilities who thrive in a learning environment that provides holistic academic and community engagement.  LDI embeds adult content and competencies by integrating practical college strategies, refining interpersonal communication skills, determining viable career paths, and promoting social responsibility.

To begin, LDI’s day high school, The Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL), provides an ideal transitional bridge from high school to higher education, employability and better quality of life for high school age students. ALL students will be provided with focused academic and transition program of instruction, which offers either a traditional academic or transitional-tracked academic diploma that focuses on practical life preparation instruction and guidance to improve social thinking and overall Executive Functioning.  Real skills for real needs!

Complementing ALL, LDI’s high school and post-secondary residential program is designed as a two-year program that offers three pathways towards placement into community-based higher education, technical and career preparation, occupational training programs, or competitive employment.  LDI’s residential program identifies goals for its students that focus on learning and achievement for all adults, not just those with hidden disabilities.  LDI is an ideal program for families and students who are seeking a supportive and inclusionary learning environment designed to empower students to develop practical skills for adult daily living, employability, learning, and community involvement as well as personal and physical well-being.  LDI’s nurturing environment engages students in the “how to’s” of handling common problem-solving and decision-making demands for adult life success.
