Jonathan Hursh is LDI’s Educational Technology and Curriculum Development Specialist. Jonathan is responsible for teaching technology classes, managing and maintaining technology at LDI, as well as having a high level of involvement in curriculum development, student data systems tracking and maintenance, as well as many other IT related details with the LDI management and staff team.
Born in Denver, CO and raised in Southern California; Jonathan joined the United States Army in 2004 which brought him to Alaska through his Military assignment into Iraq.
Jonathan spent 15 years living and working in various parts of Alaska. Throughout this time, he earned his bachelor’s degree in history, his teaching certification and then a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Alaska Pacific University. The remainder of his time in Alaska he spent teaching students as well as serving remote Alaskan villages as the educational technology specialist for the North Slope Borough School District.
Jonathan is extremely excited and grateful to join the LDI team culture and experience life in the Arizona sunshine! Jonathan is a strong believer in the power of positivity and would like to use his life experiences and skills in a way that helps to encourage and build strong, active members of the community. Jonathan is passionate about building future leaders and supporting individuals in their efforts to adapt to and overcome the challenges we face in life.
Jonathan also brings to LDI his very loving and supportive dog Atticus, a beautiful Airedale, who at only 5 years old has become fast friends with LDI’s other supportive LDI dog Talbot!
