I very much like the focus on the business-disability dynamic instead of what has traditionally been what I would characterize as the social good-disability dynamic when it comes to employing PwDs. The IBM initiative helps further this business-disability “win/win” dynamic which I have always thought is the best long-term strategy for building employment relationships with businesses including trust. In my opinion, as the American workforce ages, the business-disability dynamic, established on a “win/win” business philosophy will ultimately produce more opperuntiies for PwDs. Some businesses, like the ones cited in this blog, as well as others like Walgreens, have allready picked upn on this dynamic, begun validating it, and are using it to forge ahead of their less progressive competitors. I would also like to see more on the issue of disclosure in a future blog as I think this is an important issue that PwDs, their co-workers and employers still approach with much trepidation. Great blog… only minimal buzz kill!
