Fred Wieck, M.S., Instructor
Fred Wieck, M.S. began working as an Instructor at the Life Development Institute in 2016. The courses he teaches include Resilience, Building Self-esteem, Disabilities, Mindfulness, and Personal Finance. He also provides tutoring support to LDI students enrolled in Maricopa Community Colleges in subjects such as general biology, anatomy and physiology, group dynamics, and communications.
Fred was born and raised in a small midwestern city. There, he attended K-12 public schools, then earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in counseling from Moorhead State University. His first job was with San Juan Community College in Farmington, New Mexico. He was employed as an instructor and counselor there for 4 years. He then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he was employed at the Paradise Valley Community College for 25 years. There, he worked as a counselor, instructor, and as chair of the Counseling & Personal Development Division. He retired briefly from fulltime work, instructing part-time as a substitute, public school teacher in both Minnesota and Arizona until becoming employed with the Life Development Institute.
Sharon, Fred’s wife and life partner of 38 years also came out of retirement from the public school system to work as a middle school, special education teacher with the Life Development Institute. They have a son Philip. He and his wife Sara, have blessed us with our grandson’s Anthony and Andrew.
