Getting Your Love Around ADHD: What is ADHD Today with all these other Comorbid Conditions?

Wednesday, Feb 28, 2018 -

Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm

The public’s focus on how ADHD impacts the lives of millions seems to have diminished in recent years. Despite advances in research and practice, there is still a lot of confusion around properly diagnosing and treating this condition, due to the myriad complexities and the typical, functional impacts to the person. In this presentation, session participants will learn what the DSM 5 has to say who is a person with ADHD, recent trends addressing the condition, how the condition can impact daily adult functioning and some insights on effective strategies from a 30 year veteran with professional and personal work experience in the field. Featured Speakers: Veronica Lieb-Crawford, MA & Board Certified Senior Disability Analyst Veronica’s work has been dedicated to helping young adults and older achieve their goals in life by working with them on addressing the major life domains in adult living. She specializes in helping those with bipolar, learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and co-morbid conditions that often co-occur with these disorders. Veronica is the author of the book “Embracing the Monster: Overcoming the Challenges of Hidden Disabilities.”  She recently published a children’s book with LDI student Frank Vasquez called  “My Majik Mind.” She is currently working on two new books, writes country music and poetry in her spare time. Her goal is to bring about change in the lives of the people she works with so that they can experience success for themselves and find happiness and peace within. Veronica is the Co-Owner/President of the Life Development Institute. She holds an MA in Human Resources Development, and BA in Psychology. She is a Board Certified Sr. Disability Analyst and MBTI certified, where she integrates her knowledge of the HR and disability fields, helping her clients make sense of how to understand and integrate into the adult world. In addition to her role at LDI, Veronica also has a private practice called PART “People Achieving Results Together”. She launched PART in 1995, using specially developed, trademarked and patented processes known as Theracoaching,  for more individualized services. In this Practice, she provides very specialized one-on-one services to teens and young adults in helping them see their value and find their special gifts. This is done within a framework designed at keeping them focused on the individuals goals through the art of reframing and developing resilience. Veronica has also provided training to over 400 groups on many subjects related to disability, such as the ADAAA and hidden disabilities in a variety of environments. She consults with both corporate and not-for-profit companies on issues related to training and accessibility.  Veronica has raised two successful adult children with hidden disabilities -one on the spectrum and one with NVLD- both of whom work in the field of helping others with disabilities and health related conditions. Veronica is also a person with a variety of hidden disabilities herself, and knows first hand how to communicate and work effectively with this population from both a personal and professional perspective of over 30 years.
